LANADOL AVANT is the prespotter. It handles the oil, fat and pigment soil that would otherwise survive the cycle and come back to the counter as a complaint.

What it does

AVANT is a fat dissolver built for the same cold conditions as the rest of the range — it works from 10°C up to 40°C. That matters, because most prespotting agents assume heat and steam. AVANT does not.

It is gentle on colour and fibre, so it can be used on delicate garments as well as workwear, and it is low foaming, which means it can be added to the bath rather than only brushed on. It also has strong pigment-dissolving properties and actively reduces the risk of regreying — the dull, flat look that builds on garments cleaned repeatedly.

Two ways to use it

1. Direct application (the usual method)

Brush or spray undiluted onto oil and fat stains. Leave it for about 10 minutes, then run the normal LANADOL cycle. For stubborn grease, undiluted is where the best results are — diluting it to be careful is the most common mistake.

2. In the prewash bath

For heavily soiled loads, or where you want to cut down manual spotting at the bench, dose AVANT into the prewash at 3 – 5 g per litre. This is the approach for workwear, hospitality and anything arriving in volume with the same soil profile. It turns a spotting job into a program setting.

Technical summary

One caution

On garments with particularly rich dyes, strongly contrasting colours, or where you suspect low wet fastness, test colourfastness before spotting. An inside seam or hem allowance takes thirty seconds and saves the occasional expensive conversation.

Where it sits in the process
