LANADOL LICKER — Leather And Suede Re-Oiling
Leather and suede are the garments most cleaners send away. With LANADOL LICKER they do not have to be.
The problem with cleaning leather
Cleaning strips oils out of leather. That is unavoidable — it is what cleaning is. What separates a good result from a ruined jacket is what happens next. Without re-oiling, cleaned leather comes back stiff, flat in colour, and thirsty: it soaks up water and marks at the first rain.
LANADOL LICKER is the re-oiling step. It puts oil back into smooth and velour leather evenly, reactivates the colour, restores a soft supple handle, and substantially reduces the leather’s tendency to draw water.
Method 1 — in the machine
This is the standard route for garment leather and suede going through wet cleaning.
- Clean using LANADOL AKTIV, followed by a cold rinse bath.
- Extract briefly.
- Run an after-treatment bath at low liquor level, heated to 30°C, dosing 5 – 10 ml of LICKER per litre.
- Run 10 minutes on low-level washing mechanics.
- Drain, then extract in stages: three low-speed extractions of one minute each at intervals, then a final one minute at high speed.
Those interval extractions are not optional padding. Going straight to high speed on a wet leather garment is how you get drum marks, and drum marks on leather are permanent.
Method 2 — spray application
For hand finishing, or for re-oiling a garment that has been cleaned by another method, dilute LICKER 1:4 with water and spray. Diluted 1:3 to 1:4 it also works for reactivating shade and adding water repellency.
Two refinements worth knowing: mixing LICKER with HYDROB FC at 2:1 increases the waterproofing result, and the spray emulsion can be combined with aqueous leather dyes where a garment needs colour brought back as well as oil.

Why this is worth having on the shelf
Leather is work most cleaners turn away or subcontract, which means either lost revenue or a margin shared with someone else and a turnaround you do not control. It is also high-value work — the customer bringing in a leather jacket is not price-shopping. Being the shop in the area that does leather in-house is a genuine point of difference, and the chemistry to do it is one product.
